In the early 1920's designer Harold Growcott joined the pottery and designed a range of hand-painted designs on porcelain
The story of J&G Meakin starts well before the brothers opened their pottery in 1851
Slight fading / rubbing of the gold trim on the rims
Besides some loss of plate and the handle being slightly loose
The items have scalloped rims and are rounded off with gold trim
Vintage 1936 Fine Porcelain Royal Doulton “Roses & Wattle” D5643 Pastry Plate Art & Craft In the early 1920's designerDesigned and released by Royal Doulton during the 1930s, this pattern officially titled the Roses & Wattle pattern D5643 displays a gorgeous array of blush and deeper pink roses along a green toned leafy border with golden yellow wattle, all against a smooth creamed background. The pattern was released upon two different shapes of porcelain, one being the squared design and the other being circular. This item is the vintage 1936 Royal Doulton fine
